About
A small clinic, on purpose
We see fewer people a day than the diary would allow. That's what makes 45-minute consultations possible, and keeps the protocol from turning into a production line.
Our story
It started with an uncomfortable question
In 2017, after twelve years split between dermatology and plastic surgery, Dr Helena Vasquez realised she was hearing the same sentence at every first consultation: “I want this, but I'm afraid of looking done”.
Lumina Studio was the answer to that. No fixed packages, no sales targets per appointment, no retouched before-and-afters. The benchmark became something else entirely: the result is good when nobody can identify what was done.
Eight years on we're six people in three hundred square metres in the Design District, working in English, Portuguese and Spanish. The diary is still smaller than it could be — and that part isn't going to change.

Our commitments
What actually sets us apart
Four commitments that matter more than any promised result.
Licensed medical team
Every injectable is performed by a Florida-licensed provider with ongoing training in facial anatomy.
Genuine, traceable products
We only use FDA-approved brands purchased directly from the manufacturer. You can check the lot number of anything we use.
A plan built for your face
No off-the-shelf packages. The consultation is a full assessment, and the protocol comes from your anatomy, your routine and your budget.
Results that don't announce themselves
Our benchmark is subtlety. The goal is for people to ask whether you've been resting — not what you've had done.

Questions
What we're asked every week
If yours isn't here, message us on WhatsApp — we reply during business hours.
How long do botulinum toxin results last?
Between three and five months, varying with metabolism, dose and the area treated. From the third treatment onwards the interval usually stretches, because the muscle gradually loses the strength of the habit.
Do the treatments hurt?
Most cause only mild discomfort. We apply a topical anaesthetic before any procedure and use ultra-fine needles; fillers come with lidocaine already in the formula.
Will I need downtime?
Botulinum toxin and skinboosters let you return to your day straight away. Fillers and microneedling can leave mild redness or swelling for 24 to 72 hours — which is why we tend to schedule them for a Thursday or Friday.
What happens at the first consultation?
Forty-five minutes of assessment: health history, analysis of your face at rest and in movement, standardised photographs and a written plan with priorities and prices. There's no obligation to have anything done on the day.
Do you see clients in Portuguese and Spanish?
Yes. The whole team is trilingual and your care happens in whichever language you prefer, from reception through the consultation to post-treatment follow-up.
What's your cancellation policy?
Cancellations and reschedules are free up to 24 hours before your appointment. After that, or for a no-show, we charge 50% of the reserved amount.
